As cbs news director of surveys and Producer, Kathy had the major responsibility for the design, analysis and broadcasting of results from CBS News and CBS News/New York Times polls. Under her watch, the CBS News Poll adapted new technologies and new approaches to collect public opinion information.

From 1996 to 2008, she was a Senior Producer for the network’s election coverage; from 2002 until her retirement in 2009 she created and led the new CBS News Decision Desk, projecting outcomes in state and national races on both primary and general election nights, without errors.

She served on the 3-person panel evaluating CBS News’ 2000 election night broadcast.

During the 2008 election cycle, she wrote a weekly blog on polling issues for the CBS News website. Podcasts are available.
